Icarus Transfigured | Chapter 16 | Introductory Letter: This is the third introductory letter taken from Aiden’s journal, and begins Chapter 16 of Icarus Transfigured. This entry highlights the inside-out way autistics inhabit the things that interest them, which differs from the way people think creativity generally works.

Icarus Transfigured | Chapter 17 | Invasion of The Body Snatcher: The blind automaton met at the roadside cafe was a terrifying specter. Emma and Aiden retreat to her house for the evening, where Aiden’s sleepwalking makes him an equally frightening prowler.

A series of nightmares underscore Aiden’s own form of blindness, and turns his physical attraction for Emma into disembodied body horror.

Chapter Seventeen marks the halfway point of Icarus Transfigured. It is the longest chapter in the book and may be viewed as a story within a story.

Icarus Transfigured | Chapter 17 | Introductory Letter: True imagination is analog, and perhaps can trace its roots back to hunter/gatherer campfires. Commonplace objects in our modern age hold—even at a molecular level—a record of this ancient history.

Omar’s letter for Chapter 17 of Icarus Transfigured outlines this idea.

Icarus Transfigured | Chapters 18 thru 20 | The In-Between: Following their terrifying evening together, Aiden and Emma are confronted by police the next morning: Jacques has died in an auto-erotic misadventure overnight, implementing Emma in a scandal.

Aiden flees to clear his head, but he is left in doubt of Emma’s innocence. He is now convinced that he is the pawn in a reality television show, and trusts no one.

He turns to shadowy Amber for consultation, but fears he is still in an un-waking nightmare.

Bloomington Vlog no. 4 | A Green Sea of Homeless Men: A link is made between a prehistoric ocean and an invisible population of the homeless in Bloomington, Indiana. This convergence comes to life in a strange way in the pages of Icarus Transifigured—and its mythical college town of Stonesthrow.
